Teaching continuity #6: Distance learning, our ENTs are up and running!
[Press release]
Following a number of comments reported by the media on the first day of the resumption of distance learning on Tuesday April 6, Kosmos, the French leader in the EMS (Education Management Software) market, would like to confirm that the EMS (Education Management Software) it operates through its Skolengo solution has indeed been successful.
Thanks to exemplary collaboration with the Local authorities that fund these schemes and with the Regional education authorities that run them, measures have been taken to adapt infrastructuresto the foreseeable surge in Practices have been taken, even before School closure,in all the regions where our company is present (21 regional education authorities, 49 counties and 4 regions).
Even if Practices still far exceeded the peaks of use encountered during the first lockdown (+30% to 50% depending on our projects), our public contractors and teams were ready. Everyone was proactive enough to offer the best possible service to the Educational community.
This was reflected in the traffic figures, with no fewer than 1,500,000 distinct Users, both Students and Teachers, connected to our platforms on April 6. On Tuesday, April 6,97% of Students (98.5% on Wednesday, April 7)and100% of teachers and management staffwere able to access our ENT services.
We would also like to inform you that a single, limited incident occurred with the My Digital Office ENT project. A 2-hour service interruption (service restored at 11:15 am on Tuesday April 6) caused access difficulties for users in the Grand Est Region.
More specifically, we would like to point out that the measurement of access times to our ENT platforms is proving to be very efficient, since99.7% of requests are processed in less than one second, which is fully in line with our service quality commitments..
In addition, the use of the videoconferencingVideoconference serviceintegrated into our Skolengo solution increased 10-foldat the beginning of this week. Users who have tried it out emphasize how easy it is to get to grips with the service, which incorporates current practices familiar to all (invitations via the personal agenda or ENT textbook, interaction with students via chat or hand-raising...).
Once again, Kosmos would like to emphasize that ENTs are the preferred medium fordistance learning when the School is prevented, as it is once again at the beginning of this month. As a natural digital extension of the School, ENT is now part of the French educational ecosystem, and the investments made by local authorities in this area are a welcome boost.Local authorities' investment in these platforms is fully justified..
It is our fervent wish that Students and Teachers find their way back to their Schools as soon as possible. As long as this is not possible, our teams will provide them with the quality of service they have a right to expect, so that they can continue, again and again, to learn and teach..
